How We Used AI to Create a Faith-Based Album from our “Before You Answer” Devotional Series

ree

When God gave me the vision for the Before You Answer devotional series, I had no idea that the journey would eventually lead to something far bigger than books. What began as a deeply personal spiritual assignment grew into a multi-layered creative movement—one that blended devotion, storytelling, and cutting-edge innovation in a way I could have never predicted.

Today, I want to share the behind-the-scenes story of how my husband Curtis and I used AI technology to create a faith-based album that was inspired directly by the Before You Answer devotionals. This article is not only a testimony of creativity but also a roadmap for Christian innovators who want to explore new ways of sharing God’s message.

It Started with a Devotional Series Birthed in Prayer

The 4-book Before You Answer Devotional Series was birthed during a season of stillness, stretching, and transformation. Each book walks readers through moments when God teaches us how to:

  • Slow down

  • Listen for His voice

  • Navigate pressure

  • Wait well

  • Pray with intention

  • Respond with clarity

As I wrote these devotionals, I began to feel an overwhelming sense that each chapter had a sound. A tone. A rhythm. A musical expression attached to its message.

That’s when the idea came: What if the devotionals had a soundtrack?

Turning Scripture-Inspired Messages Into Sound

Music has always been a powerful way to carry the message of God. But instead of recording traditional vocals or producing music through conventional methods, Curtis and I felt led to try something new:

Using AI as a creative tool—not to replace us, but to amplify the vision.

AI would not write the songs.AI would not decide the message.AI would not determine the emotional tone.

We did that ourselves. Every lyric. Every theme. Every concept. Every emotional direction.

AI simply became the instrument.

Why We Chose AI for a Christian Music Project

Some people may wonder:

“Why use artificial intelligence for a faith-based album?”

Here’s the truth:

✔ AI opened creative doors we didn’t know existed

We were able to match the tone of each devotional with a musical style that felt emotionally and spiritually aligned.

✔ AI helped us translate written wisdom into an immersive soundscape

People learn differently. Some read. Some listen. Some feel through music.

✔ We wanted to demonstrate that Christians can lead in innovation

Faith and technology are not enemies. They can work together when the heart behind the project is Spirit-led.

How the Process Actually Worked

Here’s the step-by-step breakdown of our creative process:

1. We outlined the themes of each devotional.

For example: stillness, pressure, waiting, intercession, obedience.

2. We wrote lyrics based on scripture and the heart of the message.

Nothing generic. Nothing random. Pure intention.

3. We designed the emotional tone of each track.

Questions we asked:

  • Should this feel peaceful?

  • Should this feel comforting?

  • Should this feel reflective?

  • Should this sound like breakthrough?

4. We used AI software to create the vocal performance.

Important note: I did NOT sing the vocals. The voice is AI—but the soul of the music is ours.

5. We refined and perfected each track.

Curtis and I listened, adjusted, rewrote, and redesigned every detail until the final product matched the heart of the devotionals.

AI Did Not Replace Our Creativity — It Amplified It

A common misconception is that AI replaces human creativity. But here’s what our journey taught us:

AI is a tool.

Creativity is the source. God is the author.

We used AI the same way a painter uses a brush or a photographer uses a camera. The intention, the message, the emotion—all of that still comes from the heart and the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

What AI DID allow us to do was:

  • Expand our creative reach

  • Express the devotionals in sound

  • Build something fresh, relevant, and accessible

  • Speak to multiple generations through multiple mediums

And that is why the Before You Answer Album exists today.

A First-of-Its-Kind Faith + AI Movement

This project marks something rare in the Christian community:

✔ A devotional series

✔ A companion AI-crafted album

✔ A unified, Spirit-led movement

While the vocals may be AI-generated, the message is 100% God-inspired.

For believers who love innovation, creativity, and modern ministry tools, this album offers something powerful, fresh, and deeply meaningful.

Final Thoughts: The Future of Christian Creativity

If there is one message this journey has taught me, it’s this:

God is not limited by the tools we use—only by our willingness to obey.

When we allow Him to guide our creativity, innovation becomes worship.

This project is proof that faith and technology can work in harmony to bring His message to new audiences in new ways.

I pray this movement blesses you, inspires you, and reminds you that God is speaking—even in the stillness before you answer.
